“Nas Is Like” is the first single from Nas’ third album I Am…. The song is the sixth collaboration between Nas and producer DJ Premier. It was critically well received as it was a change from the more commercial and pop-oriented singles from It Was Written and Nas, Foxy Brown, AZ, and Nature Present The Firm: The Album.

Kutski discovers how three small electronic boxes from the 1980’s sculpted the sound of both Hip-Hop and Dance music. He makes it his mission to track down the team that worked on the Roland 808, 303 and 909 machines to see if they had any idea that their inventions would have such a massive influence on contemporary music.

He finds out how they played a massive role in the development of hip-hop and the rise of Trap. They form the basis of house and techno and the tons of sub-genres that have spawned from these. Kutski chats to legendary hip-hop producer DJ Premier, Richie Hawtin, A Guy Called Gerald, The 2Bears and Alex Metric, as well as his fellow Radio 1 and 1Xtra DJ’s on his quest to finds out why producers around the globe continue to be obsessed with these sounds more than three decades after they were first created.

DJ Premier & Bumpy Knuckles debut brand new single B.A.P. which highlights the upcoming collaboration album involving two longtime hip-hop veterans, DJ Premier and Bumpy Knuckles, sometimes known as Freddie Foxxx in his heyday. The Kolexion will be the title of that project and will certainly be filled with modernized works of the boom-bap sound. It also should be noted that the beat was rejected by Jay-Z for Blueprint 3.
