About RH. Robyn Hood/Miriam A. Hyman is a Hip Hop MC and classically trained actress having received her MFA from Yale School of Drama in 2012. She is a Philadelphia native and currently resides in Harlem, New York. Her career as an MC began to take off after being inspired to begin writing while performing in William Shakespeare’s Richard III at the Public Theatre in New York. In 2014 she released her first mixtape Journey of an MC via Soundcloud and Reverbnation earning her a 2014 nomination for “Best New Female Artist” in the Philly Hip Hop Awards.

Robyn Hood’s sound is a fresh breeze of classic Hip-Hop with a new wave of cool and intelligence. “Her debut EP For Higher featuring Erika Hicks, dropped on December 9th 2016 on ITunes/Googleplay/Tidal/and Spotify. Since the release, she’s been climbing the charts and winning the ears of bloggers. “Robyn deserves her respect and salutations for putting together this hard hitting but yet refreshing lyrical escapade….”Thisis50.com. The Chicago Reader calls the EP “Outstanding” and OK-Tho says “Robyn Hood and Erika Hicks send powerful message with EP”. She’s a dope mixture and being compared to some of the greats such as Lauryn Hill, JDilla, EVE, MC Lyte, and even Lil Wayne with her energetic rhyme patterns and flow. She even ghostwrote Mexican Born for friend and classmate Lupita Nyong’o after hitting 3 million followers which went viral after a day.

Robyn has been mentioned and credited in several publications like the Hollywood Reporter and Bustle as well being mentioned on The View. This versatile artist is an award winning actress having earned a 2016 Leonore Annenberg Fellowship award for “Performing Arts,” and was named the 2011 Princess Grace recipient of the George C. Wolfe award in Theater. She plays Emile Cooper, Medical Examiner, on CBS’s Blue Bloods. Other TV/Film credits include Split, The Congressman, Most Beautiful Island, Master of None, Red Oaks, Unforgettable, Falling Water, The Blacklist, Hostages, 30 Rock, Law & Order, and The Wire. Theatrically, she’s worked at LaMaMa, The Public, Manhattan Theater Club, and Lincoln Center. Hyman is also a featured character in the 2016 animated The Walking Dead Telltale games series. She holds a BFA in Acting from University of a the Arts.
