Introducing T. McCrae

T McCrae is an American music award nominated singer/songwriter and native New Yorker. Growing up in New York city presented its fair share of socioeconomic struggles and challenges, however, “T” turned to music as a healing mechanism and was able to constructively channel life’s challenges into a positive through his gift of music and song

“If you listen to my music, you’ll see that it’s a reflection of where I’ve been, who I am now and where I’m determined to go,” says T McCrae.

Drawing on life experiences, T McCrae’s music style can best be described as passionate, emotional, soulful, educating and at times political. He enjoys creating pop records but feels the greatest connection to R&B, Gospel and Jazz as he appreciates how these genres were bred out of pain and turmoil and speaks to the soul. He draws musical inspiration from artists such as D’Angelo, Jonathan Mcreynolds, John Legend, India Arie, Mariah Carey, Anthony Evans, PJ Morton, Faith Evans, Frank Ocean, Eric Benet, Musiq SoulChild, to name a few.

What T McCrae enjoys the most about being an artist is the writing and recording process as well as the challenge of coming up with new ways to vocally express himself. He also loves being able to touch lives through song. “My greatest desire is for my voice to be used to heal and touch hearts and souls through music. I want to be able to encourage hope, provide spiritual strength and empower through my music…there’s no greater gift than to hear someone say ‘your voice moved me’.” As a testament to his songwriting ability, In 2012 T McCrae received a songwriter music award nomination from the OMA Music Awards. In November 2015 he collaborated with season Xlll American Idol contestant Neco Starr on a dance pop single titled “The Baddest”. Currently, T McCrae is poised for a national promotional tour for his highly anticipated and well received new RNB single “Let It Go” produced by Brian Nightingale, who has produced hits for some of the music industry’s A list artists, like Sean Kingston. “Let It Go” has recently received nation and worldwide spins and rotation from Djs and radio stations, who have given the hot new RNB single rave reviews.
