Hit Boy announces his retirement from music production

Hit Boy took to Twitter on Wednesday to share the shocking news. “I retired from music industry production last night,” tweeted Hit without providing further information.

The 27-year-old rose to fame producing Jay Z and Kanye West’s 2011 hit “Ni**as in Paris” for their joint album Watch the Throne, and went on to work with superstars including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Drake, Mariah Carey, and Kendrick Lamar.

It’s unclear what he plans to do next, but he has been focusing on his rap career and running his label Hits Since 1987. In May, HS87 release its first compilation We the Plug featuring his artists Audio Push, K. Roosevelt, BMactheQueen, and more.
